By the time I entered high school and university, semiconductor devices (transistors) had arrived, ushering in the microelectronics era. It was upon this foundation that digital technology began the rapid, ever-changing evolution that we have all witnessed firsthand.
My life has paralleled this unprecedented acceleration of science and technology. Looking back now, I feel a sense of shame for a life spent in busy toil yet devoid of significant achievement. Nevertheless, I feel lucky that our generation did not miss out on this new era.
After walking alongside this progress for so many years, I have gradually come to realize how naive, superficial, and even ignorant my previous understandings were. This awakening came late for me.
Yet, fortunately, I did not fall into the trap of hollow, resounding slogans. Over the years, so many people have remained “self-satisfied,” mired in such traps and unable to extricate themselves\u2014some do not even realize it to this day.
It is my hope that the many “Greats” currently being overused\u2014especially the “Great” in “Great Wisdom”\u2014can truly carry Great weight. I hope the many “News,” especially the “New” in the “New Era,” will be filled with unprecedented substance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
